David Shankle, known to fans around the world as The Shred Demon, is one of the most respected guitarists there is. He is also among the fastest guitarists in the world, and can play over-the-neck guitar faster than most guitarists can play normally. Having begun his music career in Chicago, David was “discovered” from the local band scene and offered the opportunity to join New York based power metal band, MANOWAR. Almost immediately upon joining, David was thrust into a world tour and only when that ended did the band begin work on the certified-platinum album, The Triumph of Steel. After several world tours, David left MANOWAR and attended Roosevelt Music University where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Music. From there, David put together his own project, the DAVID SHANKLE GROUP (DSG), and has released 3 discs under that name and toured the US as well as Europe. David has done work for film, with the inclusion of his Demonic Solo in the independent film Jezebeth. Currently, David co-owns the Milwaukee Music Academy where he teaches guitar, and also writes with the Italy-based HOLY TIDE and the Argentina-based FEANOR.
